New at the Forum: Follow the leader!

Today we’ve added to the SFI Forum yet another powerful new feature. Every member of the forum, behind their name on any post, you’ll now see a “Follow” icon (a little plus sign).

Follow Icon

Click on this icon, and you’ll be able to automatically follow all posts that this person submits on the forum from now on.

How do you see and read the posts of those you’re following?  Click on your “profile” tab (the tab with the head and shoulders icon) at the top of any page at the Forum and you’ll now be able to view and browse all forum posts of those you are following.  Just click on the FOLLOWS section header.  It’s that easy!

Why would you want to follow someone?  One of the fastest ways to learn how to become successful is to emulate those who are already successful.  Now you can easily follow the leaders in SFI and learn daily from them.

Special Notes:

1. We’ve set up everyone’s account with some default follows.  Immediately–right now–you are following SFI President and Founder Gery Carson, your sponsor, your co-sponsor, and any Team Leaders in the 12 generations above you.  Feel free to un-follow at any time any of these persons you don’t wish to follow.

2. You can follow anyone that you feel you can learn from.  It’s not just limited to “leaders.”

3. There’s more to come for our new Follow program, too.  For example, we’ll soon be adding the count of how many people are following you to your mini profile panel at the forum.  And a cool new badge for your SFI homepage and Leadership Page that includes your number of followers is also on the way!

So start choosing great affiliates to follow…and start writing great posts to attract thousands of followers for yourself!  Enjoy!

New at the Forum: Direct PSA/CSA interaction!

Colorful_Talk-BubblesToday we’ve added to the SFI Forum another powerful new feature.  Click on the “profile” tab (the tab with the head and shoulders icon) and you’ll now be able to view and browse all forum posts of your PSAs and CSAs.

Why is this valuable?  Because your PSAs and CSAs are the lifeblood of your team, and now you have another channel to interact with them–right on the SFI Forum!

On a regular basis, at least once a day, you should now check to see what has been posted by your PSAs and CSAs by using this new feature.  When you see a post, it will behoove you to engage them on the forum.  They’ll appreciate seeing their sponsor or co-sponsor on the forum and responding to their posts.  Indeed, this is another great way to show you care and to provide support to these key team members.

Note: You’ll also often now see a number displayed on your profile tab.  This number indicates new posts in response to your posts and threads (and subscribed threads), if any, since you last checked.

TIP: To view ALL previous posts of your PSAs and CSAs, just click on their name in the sidebar of any of their posts.

New at the Forum! “My Region” and “My Country”

Colorful_Talk-BubblesWe are pleased today to debut two new categories at the SFI Forum.

Check the Categories tab now.  The “My Region” category is for discussions of SFI topics pertaining specifically to your region of the world.  ONLY affiliates in your region may join these discussions.

Following are the 22 regions currently:

  • Northern America
  • Eastern Africa
  • Middle Africa
  • Northern Africa
  • Southern Africa
  • Western Africa
  • Caribbean
  • Central America
  • South America
  • Asia
  • Eastern Asia
  • Southern Asia
  • South-Eastern Asia
  • Western Asia
  • Eastern Europe
  • Northern Europe
  • Southern Europe
  • Western Europe
  • Oceania
  • Melanesia
  • Micronesia
  • Polynesia

The “My Country” category is for discussions of SFI topics pertaining specifically to your country.  ONLY affiliates in your country may join these discussions.  Note that a minimum of 10,000 affiliates is required to qualify.  If your country has less than 10,000 affiliates, you will not see a My Country category.  You WILL, however, have My Region regardless.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

  1. To accommodate moderation, all posts must be in the English language.
  2. Remember that My Region and My Country are NOT for general discussions of SFI topics.  Keep those discussions in the regular forum categories.  Rather, My Region and My Country are for discussions pertaining specifically to your region or country.  Examples would be cultural considerations for marketing in the region or best payment options, best shipping options, etc.  And realize that if you ask a question that could be answered best by the overall SFI Forum community, it is best to NOT post in My Region or My Country, because ONLY those in your region/country will be able to see your post.  You may also receive less “likes” purely because exposure will be limited to your region/country.

The all-new SFI Forum is here!

logo-forum_lg

We’re extremely excited today to debut our awesome new SFI Forum! Here are a few reasons for our excitement:

1. Up until today–for 15+ years–the SFI Forum has operated on third-party software (and all the limits that come with using off-the-shelf software). No more!  The new SFI Forum has now been completely built from scratch by US, designed exactly how we want it.   This means we now can TIGHTLY integrate our forum with the entire SFI Affiliate Center and system in ways we could never do before.  And while we’re launching with a somewhat bare-bones feature set today (so as not to delay the launch any longer), there’s now almost no limit to what we can do with the forum!  Indeed, numerous powerful additional features will be added over the coming weeks.

2. The new forum adds a significant layer of new security to the Affiliate Center.  With third-party software, there are just too many areas hiding deep in the code that can be (and have been) exploited by those with malicious intentions.  Through our new design, we’ve made security a priority.

3. Though the value of a strong and well-run forum may not be immediately obvious, we believe it’s one of the most important resources we can offer our affiliates.  Excellent COMMUNITY is absolutely critical to any successful organization, and with our new forum–and all the things we can now do with it–we believe we’ve just greatly enhanced the SFI system.  We also believe that, with our new upgraded and more visible forum, we will gain much greater participation from affiliates across the board.  And this is a truly great thing for every SFI affiliate’s business that can lead to more active teams and higher commission checks for all.

We hope that everyone will take a little time today to familiarize yourself with the new forum.  IMPORTANT: Start by reviewing our new TIPS & RULES page here:

http://www.sfimg.com/forum/tips

It’s vital that you understand the rules of the forum.  Meanwhile, the TIPS will provide you with numerous helpful and time-saving ideas to make your time at the forum more enjoyable and the forum a more valuable resource for everyone.

After you’ve reviewed the TIPS & RULES, click on one of the other tabs and start reading, posting, and participating!

We truly hope you like the new forum and we look forward to working with the entire SFI community to make it one of our greatest resources over the coming months.
