New and improved SFI Forum debuts!

We're excited today to announce SFI FORUM. SFI Forum replaces the "DBoard" located at www.sfidboard.com.

Here's what's different:

1. Unlike the DBoard, which operated under its own separate domain, SFI Forum is integrated right into the SFI Affiliate Center.

2. All SFI affiliates are automatically pre-registered at the SFI Forum. To post, you only need to enter a quick username.

3. When you log in at the Affiliate Center, you're automatically logged in at the SFI Forum, too.

4. Because you have to be an SFI affiliate and log in at the SFI Affiliate Center, intrusive postings from competitors, spammers, and "malcontents" will be greatly decreased.

5. You will soon start seeing links to the forum throughout the Affiliate Center. Example: You've just finished reading a training article. At the bottom of the article, click on the Forum link and, boom, you're at a Forum thread where questions, answers, brainstorming, etc. on the article you just read are being discussed!

6. The new SFI Forum will have more involvement from SFI staff.

"What's going to happen to the old DBoard?"

There is, of course, a wealth of information residing in the current DBoard database and we don't want to just toss that away. On the other hand, there is a great amount of obsolete information too (due to many changes to SFI over the years). So, what we are going to do is leave the DBoard up at www.sfidboard.com indefinitely. This will allow anyone who wants to to access previously posted information. However, it is now LOCKED so that no NEW posts can be added.

So, come check out the new SFI Forum at:

https://www.sfimg.com/forum.sfi

Then, help us get it rolling by starting some new threads. And, more importantly, get in the habit of reading and posting regularly! Enjoy!

New Language Translation At TC

We are now testing Google's language translation service at TripleClicks. Through this service, Google provides 41 different languages.

Access is provided via a small drop-down menu which we've located in the sidebar on both the homepage and on search results pages.

Here's a little more information from Google:

2/26/2009 09:00:00 AM
Google Translate recently added Turkish, Thai, Hungarian, Estonian, Albanian, Maltese, and Galician to the mix. The rollout of these seven additional languages marks a new milestone: automatic translations between 41 languages (1,640 language pairs!). This means we can now translate between languages read by 98% of Internet users.

In just a few years, the machine translation group within Google Research has taken its initial research system from two languages to 41 languages and is now handling millions of translation requests a day. For several languages, Google Translate is the first freely available machine translation system for these languages. Of course, there's always room for improvement, and we're working hard to improve translation quality. Our statistical models are built from vast quantities of monolingual and translated texts using automated machine learning techniques.

Attack

We have been under attack for the last 48 hours from someone who is entering THOUSANDS of duplicate affiliate registrations and assigning them to random sponsors for reasons unknown. Be aware that you may receive one or more of these registrations. We have put new programming in place to quell the attacks and will be monitoring for further attempts.

New Login Page Debuts

Today we are debuting a new and very different login page for the SFI Affiliate Center.

It's MUCH "busier" than the previous login page, but we think you're going to like it. Here's why:

1. Many new affiliates join SFI every day but haven't yet been fully "sold" on SFI. With the text and images now included on the login screen, we can help further educate new affiliates about the broad scope of the SFI opportunity.

2. Enrollments and information on our growth adds credibility and excitement.

3. With the included text, we'll be giving search engines good information to spider. Consequently, people will start discovering SFI through search engine searches. And when they do, and when they decide to join SFI through the provided registration link, YOU can receive a share of the signups (provided you are participating in the EyeEarn Co-op).

Check out the new page now by going to www.sfimg.com.

New "Ready To Go" PR Pointable Action

We're pleased today to unveil a very cool new Power Rank (PR) Pointable Action. You can now earn a quick 50 PR points by letting your sponsor know you're committed to SFI and you're "ready to go."

Every SFI affiliate is welcome to complete this action and earn the 50 points, but we've designed it PRIMARILY for brand new affiliates. Hence, we've placed it on the PR Scoreboard in the "Getting Started" section (5th from the top).

The direct URL is: https://www.sfimg.com/Resources/PRReadyToGo.sfi

For those of you active in sponsoring, this new action will be extremely valuable in identifying your "go-getters" –the kind of affiliates that can help you build a strong and thriving organization.

It works like this: Your new affiliates will be referred to the "Getting Started" PR actions and will be strongly encouraged to complete the "Commitment Message." Each time one of your affiliates completes this action, you'll receive a special "I'm ready to go" e-mail that includes their personal commitment to SFI and some other key data to help you begin working with them.

Receiving this e-mail tells you you have a new affiliate on your team who is serious about success with SFI.  And, of course, the more successful affiliates you have on your team, the more successful YOU will be.  So when you receive one of these special e-mails...respond to this new affiliate IMMEDIATELY!  Open wide the lines of communication, and begin the building of a mutually beneficial business relationship. Remember, it's this part of SFI–"Duplication"–that creates true WEALTH. See more on Duplication at: https://www.sfimg.com/Resources/Duplicate.sfi

RSS Feeds At The SFI News Blog

SFI makes its blog updates available to affiliates via RSS feeds. This helps you stay up to date on the latest SFI news and ensures you won't miss out on important information. Subscribing to RSS feeds is easy. Below are some simple instructions:

In FireFox and Mac's Safari...just go to http://news.sfimg.com/index.php and click on the RSS icon in the right side of the URL address box.

In Internet Explorer...Click the RSS icon in your IE toolbar. Click the arrow next to the RSS icon on your browser toolbar. In the dropdown menu, select “Get RSS 2.0 Feed.” You'll now see a feed page with directions on how to subscribe.

Via E-Mail Client:

The cool thing about subscribing to RSS feeds via your mail application is that you're notified in your e-mail inbox each time SFI updates its blog, so you're less likely to miss out on the latest posts.

To add an RSS feed in Mac's Mail app:

1. Choose "Add RSS Feeds" under File menu

2. Select the "Specify a custom feed URL" radio button at the top.

3. Enter http://news.sfimg.com/index.php

4. Click the "Show in Inbox" option.

5. Click the Add button.

Optional: Go to RSS under Mail Preferences and adjust time to check for updates and when to remove articles.

To add an RSS feed in Windows Outlook:

1. On the Tools menu, click Account Settings.

2. On the RSS Feeds tab, click New.

3. In the New RSS Feed dialog box, type http://news.sfimg.com/index.php.

4. Click Add.

5. Click OK.

After you have added the RSS Feed to Outlook, a folder is displayed for the RSS Feed in the Navigation Pane. When you open the folder, the latest items downloaded from the SFI blogs are displayed.
