Important ECA program update

In line with our growing development of the Rewardical program, in January 2018 we plan to have in place a new platform that will allow all ECAs to participate in the Rewardical program and have Rewardical Tokens automatically dispensed to their customers on purchases.

To prepare for this change in our system, we’re no longer accepting new ECA applications, effective immediately. Additionally, no new ECA product listings will be accepted.  Existing listings can be updated if the update is critical, but only by request, and only via a Support ticket.

Similarly, we are also discontinuing acceptance of new Member Listings, effective immediately.

Please bear with us as we make this transition.

More details on the changes coming will be provided in the next few weeks, please watch for further announcements.

Q&A

Q: I’m an existing ECA.  Will you continue to process orders at TripleClicks, pay me sales commissions, etc.?
Yes.
Q: Can I make a product listings inactive if needed?

Super Deals now come with free Rewardicals!

RewardicalsStack

Effective immediately, each time you purchase a Super Deal, you’ll also automatically receive, as a special bonus, 1000 Rewardicals!

ABOUT SUPER DEALS:  Super Deals are items won at Pricebenders where the winner has chosen to sell the item instead of keep it for themselves.  All Super Deals are priced at a minimum of 30% off the MSRP, and most offer a MUCH greater savings.  Why?  Because when someone wins a Pricebenders auction for a really low price (which is typical), they’re naturally going to be inclined to “price it to sell!”

Indeed, Super Deals regularly feature deals that no other e-commerce site in the world can match!  Brand new electronics, appliances, and numerous other great products are regularly offered at a whopping 50% off, 60% off, and even 70% off the regular retail price!

See our current Super Deals at:

Localvantia has launched!

Localvantia_logo

Our new division, Localvantia, is now officially live and open for business!

screenshot_3152

Note: As this announcement is being written, there are NO merchants yet officially registered, and official registrations may only come in as a trickle for a while.  So you’ll of course want to defer any assessments of Localvantia for at least a few weeks, until the search engine has begun to be populated. With every affiliates’ help, however, this should not take long!  Let’s get to work!

What you should do now

  1. As soon as our first merchants begin appearing, you’ll be able to start seeing how the Localvantia search engine works and how you can use it to find popular businesses in your area (or in regions where you might be traveling).  We have some really cool features including mapping, integrated Yelp and Foursquare reviews and pictures, coupons, punch cards, and more (and more to come).
  2. As soon as a merchant appears in your area (you’ll automatically receive a notice each time this occurs), check out their profile page at Localvantia and then go visit them, make a purchase, and let them know you found them thanks to Localvantia!  Tell them you like earning free Rewardical tokens, too!  This is REALLY important!  If lots of affiliates will do this, the merchants will of course be that much more excited about their participation in the program—which means they’ll be more likely to consider paying out higher rewards, offering more Localvantia-exclusive money-saving deals, and so on.  It will also act as an incentive for the merchant to set up their Localvantia account with Auto-Reward…which means you can walk out the door after a purchase with your Rewardicals already paid to your account!  Learn more about this in the next section.
  3. If you haven’t already, you’ll want to start pre-registering merchants in your area now.  Learn how to pre-register merchants HERE.  Then carefully study how to close your pre-registered merchants HERE.  Let’s all get after it!  Let’s make so much noise with Localvantia that they’re writing articles about us in blogs, newspapers, and magazines in 2018.  Let’s make Localvantia a world brand, known and loved by hundreds of millions of people!  We can do it if we all work together!

How to earn Rewardicals at Localvantia merchants

One of the great benefits of Localvantia, for merchants, is that they don’t have to do anything other than pay for the rewards they dispense.  There’s no software to install, no hardware to install, and there’s no requirement to change anything about how they check out customers.  In fact, the merchant doesn’t even need to know when a customer is earning Rewardical tokens with their purchase!  Yes, WE do all the heavy lifting, which makes being a Localvantia merchant virtually hassle-free and quite possibly the most powerful loyalty program for businesses yet!

As a Rewardical member (all SFI affiliates have a Rewardical membership by default), however, you need to know how to claim rewards when you shop at a Localvantia merchant. There are TWO methods:

Method A
CLAIM FORM

Here’s an example of how this method works:

  1. You’ve just enjoyed a fine meal with your family at your favorite local restaurant.  You pay for your meal as you would normally (making sure to get a paper receipt).
  2. Upon leaving the restaurant, log in at Localvantia.com, open the merchant’s profile page, and click the “Verify Purchase” button. Choose the “UPLOAD A RECEIPT” option.
  3. Upload a copy of the receipt (as proof of your purchase) and complete the rest of the simple Rewards Claim form.  The easiest way is to take a picture of the receipt with your smartphone.  Tip: The Localvantia.com website is mobile-friendly, so you can take your picture, then submit your claim form with the picture of the receipt quickly and easily—all right from your smartphone.
  4. Our system now immediately sends the merchant an invoice (via email) for the cost of the Rewardicals due you for your purchase.  As soon as the merchant confirms your purchase and the invoice is paid, you’ll receive your Rewardicals.

Rewardical_ReceiptUpload

Method B

POS (POINT OF SALE) APPROVALS

Here’s an example of how this method works:

  1. You’ve just completed your shopping at your favorite local grocery store.  Before entering the checkout lane, log in at Localvantia.com on your smartphone, open the merchant’s profile page, and click the “Verify Purchase” button.  Choose the “VERIFY IN STORE” option.
  2. The cashier informs you of the total cost of your groceries and you pay for them as you would normally.
  3.  Hand your phone to the cashier.
  4. The cashier will enter the amount of your purchase and the merchant’s payment confirmation code number and then hand the phone back to you.
  5. Our system now immediately sends the merchant an invoice (via email) for the cost of the Rewardicals due you for your purchase.  As soon as the invoice is paid, you’ll receive your Rewardicals.  Alternately, merchants can choose to set up their account with Auto-Reward.  If Auto-Reward is in place, you’ll receive your Rewardicals instantly, literally before you walk out the door!
Rewardical_POS_People

Have the VERIFY IN STORE screen open, then hand your smartphone to the cashier.

RewardicalPOS_Closeup

The cashier will enter the amount and the merchant’s confirmation code to verify your purchase, and then will hand your phone back to you.  Done!

The Point-of-Sale method (Method B) is of course the preferred method.  It means that you can get your claim approved right then and there…clean, simple, easy, and no receipt required.  However, please note that some merchants may choose to only use Method A (at least until they’ve become accustomed to being a Localvantia merchant).

Auto-Reward is of course also the preferred method…for invoice payments.  When you make a purchase from a merchant on Auto-Reward, you’ll receive your Rewardicals instantly, and all you had to do was get the merchant to enter their verification code on your smartphone! Auto-Reward is also actually the best and easiest way for the merchant because it’s the least expensive and is virtually hassle-free.  See more about Auto-Reward in the Q&A section.

q&A-final

Q: How do I know how many Rewardicals I will earn from each merchant?
In the top right corner of each merchant’s profile page is a Rewardical symbol followed by a number.  The higher the number, the more Rewardicals this merchant dispenses.  The number actually represents the amount of Rewardicals you will earn for each $10 spent (excluding taxes).

Q: Do we earn Rewardicals on taxes included in bills?
No, Rewardicals will be paid on the total amount of your purchase minus any taxes or other similar fees.

Q: What’s a cashier?
A cashier is the person normally found behind the cash register in a store who checks you out when you’re finishing shopping.  A cashier handles payments and receipts in a store, bank, restaurant, or other business.

Q: If Auto-Reward is best for merchants, why isn’t it the default method?
Auto-Reward requires two small “leaps of faith” from the merchant: 1. They must pre-pay (fund their account with a minimum of $25).  2. They must have enough trust in the system to not feel it necessary to first review a copy of the customer’s purchase receipt before paying an invoice.  While our parent company, Carson Services, Inc., has a 33-year track record, Localvantia and Rewardical are both brand new.  Therefore, we are happy to first win that trust with our individual invoicing option, where invoices are paid after the merchant has reviewed and approved the customer’s rewards claim.  Or perhaps the merchant simply wants a “trial run” before committing to any kind of pre-payment.  Regardless of the reason, we want to give our partner merchants a great experience, starting from the very first day, and we want them to have options and not feel pressure to be more aggressive with Localvantia until they’re ready.

Q: Wouldn’t a merchant always want to review a customer’s proof of purchase (i.e. purchase receipt) before paying an invoice?
At first, probably, but most invoices will be for very nominal amounts, usually less than a dollar each (unless the merchant deals in high-end, very expensive products).  Is it worth the merchant’s time to review every little $.27 invoice?  Also, we have to tack on a processing fee when individual invoices are paid manually, whereas there is ZERO processing fees when invoices are paid via Auto-Reward.  In short, Auto-Reward makes a lot of sense when you factor in that it’s virtually hassle-free (just fund your account when you want), requires almost no time, there are no processing fees, and perhaps most importantly, is the best way to keep their customers happy due to the fact they will receive their Rewardical tokens instantly and without delay.

Q: What if a merchant identifies fraudulent activity (someone trying to gain Rewardicals for purchases they didn’t make)?
Merchants are provided a simple mechanism to report such cases and receive credit.  Any member shown to be engaged in fraudulent activity, however, will have their account immediately terminated, any Rewardicals on account or pending redemptions forfeited, and they will be permanently banned from earning Rewardicals.

Q: When you email a merchant an invoice for a rewards claim, is a copy of the purchase receipt attached?
No, the email only provides basic details, such as the customer’s name, date of purchase, amount of purchase, etc.  Then, a link is provided so that the merchant can click it and review the claim in full detail—including copy of the uploaded purchase receipt—at Rewardical.com.  From here, they can also pay the invoice.

Q: So can I ever receive Rewardicals BEFORE a merchant pays an invoice for my rewards claim?
No.  We will always require that payment from the merchant be received before you can receive your Rewardicals.

Q: What types of payment can merchants use to fund their Auto-Reward account?
They can pay with whatever forms of payment we can accept from their country (just like we do for TripleClicks).  For most countries, this would include credit cards, debit cards, and PayPal.  For virtually ALL countries, we will accept payment in Bitcoin.

Q: What if I’ve earned some Rewardicals but the merchant doesn’t pay the invoice so that I can receive them?
Merchants will receive multiple notices for each invoice issued.  If an invoice remains unpaid after 1 week, their merchant account will be suspended.

Q: If a merchant’s account is suspended because of one or more unpaid invoices, is there a way to activate their account again?
Yes, such merchants may reactivate their account by setting up their account for Auto-Reward (which requires funding their payment account in advance, minimum $25, and paying all pending and future invoices automatically from said account).

Q: What’s the minimum amount a merchant has to pay to participate in the program?
Currently, for grocery stores, gas stations, and automotive businesses, they can participate for as little as 1/2% ($.005 per one dollar in sales).  For all other types of businesses, the minimum is 2% ($.02 per dollar in sales).  Of course, it is in the best interests of the merchant to participate at the highest rate that is feasible for them, as this means a higher number of Rewardicals they’ll be putting out to attract and retain customers.

Q: Do we still pre-register merchants?
Yes, our program is designed to always operate with a pre-registration being the first thing that happens.  The pre-registration is what locks you in with crediting, so that if they end up a Localvantia merchant, YOU will be listed as the person who referred them.  Pre-registration also plays a very important role in making it so merchants can get started quickly and easily.  That is, when the merchant receives the close letter, he/she can go to Localvantia.com and they will already be 80% ready to go (because their business listing is almost entirely already pre-populated).  With just a few quick clicks, they can be off and running, live in the Localvantia.com search engine, and attracting new customers because of it!  We consider this to be critical…and that’s why you will continue to pre-register merchants.

Update for Localvantia merchant referrers

With Localvantia going live later today, we wanted to clarify and update some things pertaining to merchants that you’ve pre-registered:

1.  The “Close Letter” (as discussed here) that you’ll print out to begin the closing process is a key component.  To accommodate merchants around the world, we are developing versions of this letter in several popular languages.  We hope to make these available by the end of December.  Watch for the announcement.

2. Within a few days we will be making available versions of the recently-announced Localvantia brochure and Rewardical brochure…that you can print yourself from your own printer.  A little later, these will be made available in multiple languages, too.  These new, optional flyers can accompany the Close Letter to provide more information to your merchants on Localvantia and Rewardical.

3.  If you’ve wondered how merchants will learn how to get started and how the whole Localvantia and Rewardical programs work, we are pleased to let you know that, with today’s launch of Localvantia, we are also rolling out an extensive “getting started” guide for merchants.  Similar to LaunchPad’s role for SFI affiliates, the Localvantia Merchant Guide will provide complete information on all aspects of Localvantia and Rewardical so merchants can get started quickly and easily…and can maximize their participation in our program.  Additionally, we’ll be distributing regular updates, newsletters, tips, and more, via email, to all Localvantia merchants.

4. As discussed in this earlier announcement, we are developing a variety of promotional aids for merchants that they can use to attract new customers and and create new sales from existing customers.

We are developing signs, flyers, X-Cards, table tents, window stickers, and more.  Many will be customized for the merchant and the feature he/she might want to spotlight.  For example, merchants can get signs highlighting that their customers can now earn free rewards in the form of  Bitcoin with every purchase. All items will be available free to the merchant (pay only for shipping).  We will be advising all new merchants of the availability of these items, but you may wish to mention it too it if you are discussing the Localvantia with your merchants.  And, yes, we also plan to make signs, flyers, and more available that they can print themselves (making them 100% free and available instantly).  And, yes, we’ll make these items available in multiple languages, too.

That’s it for now.  Be watching for the official notification of Localvantia’s official launch later today…and then let’s get the party started!

Localvantia: Get ready!

screenshot_2699

It’s set! Localvantia will officially go live on Tuesday, December 5th.  And so that everyone can hit the ground running next week, today we are providing important information for all affiliates who have pre-registered merchants.

First, let’s go through the process of closing pre-registered merchants…

Closing Pre-Registered Merchants

Okay, so you’ve pre-registered one or more merchants.  Great job!  But starting on Tuesday, it’s time to begin closing these accounts you’ve opened.

Here’s how it will work…

1. From the My Merchants report (the list of all your pre-registered merchants), you’ll click the new “Contact” link that will be displayed (starting Tuesday) beside each merchant’s name, located on the right side of the screen.

2. A modal will open.  Click the “Print Close Letter #1” link.  The letter for closing your merchants will open.

Following is a sample of the letter.  Note that the letter will automatically be populated with:

  • Today’s date
  • The merchant’s name and address
  • The merchant’s unique invitation code (necessary so they can open their merchant profile page with the pre-registered information and photo—credited to YOU)
  • Your email address (so they may contact you)
  • Your first and last name

CloseLetter1 (1)

3. Print out this letter (preferably using a color printer and on a nice grade of paper) and then sign it above where your name appears.

4. Now it’s time to get the letter into the merchant’s hands.  You can put it in an envelope and mail it.  Or, you can personally deliver it (walk into the merchant’s store and hand them the letter).

Note: So that you can better track your follow-ups, the modal also allows you to designate your delivery method (Postal Mail, In-Person Delivery, or Other).  There’s also a free-form notes field in which you can enter any notes that you wish.  We also will automatically record the date and time you printed the close letter, and this information will be added to the My Merchants report for your future reference.

Now, it’s very important that you understand the following:

The close letter, all by itself, CAN be enough to get the job done, but you will likely significantly increase your chances of closing your merchants by adding one or more professionally-printed pieces to your presentation:

Envelopes & Letterheads

If you’re mailing the close letter, consider using a Localvantia envelope.  We’ve just made available both regular #10 business envelopes for this purpose, and also #10 window envelopes.  The added value of the window envelope is that you can print out your letters, fold them outwardly, and the merchant’s name and address will show through the window (no need to hand address the envelope or add a mailing label).

Localvantia_MktgAids (1)

  • Order the regular #10 Localvantia envelopes HERE.  50 envelopes are just $5.95 and come with 72 VersaPoints.  Envelopes can also be purchased with MRP or TCredits.
  • Order the Localvantia #10 window envelopes HERE.  50 envelopes are just $5.95 and come with 72 VersaPoints.  Envelopes can also be purchased with MRP or TCredits.

Either envelope can also be used for general correspondence, additional follow-ups, and so on with your merchants (or prospective merchants).  Similarly, Localvantia letterhead is available for general correspondence, etc.  Order Localvantia letterhead HERE.  50 sheets are just $5.95 and come with 72 VersaPoints.  Letterheads can also be purchased with MRP or TCredits.

Brochures

We’ve also made available full-color brochures, one for Localvantia, and another for Rewardical, both of which are designed specifically to accompany the close letter.  That is, to add impact to your presentation, you can have one or both brochures accompany the close letter.

The Localvantia brochure is a professional, full-color, classic “bi-fold” brochure printed on 100 lb. glossy 6″ x 8.5″ stock, two-sided, then folded in half vertically to 3″ x 8.5″ to fit perfectly in a standard business envelope. This eye-catching brochure provides a quick, professional, effective overview of merchant benefits with the Localvantia program.

Order the Localvantia brochure HERE.  50 brochures are just $6.55 and come with 79 VersaPoints. Brochures can also be purchased with MRP or TCredits.

Similar to the Localvantia brochure, the Rewardical brochure is a professional, full-color, classic “bi-fold” brochure printed on 100 lb. glossy 6″ x 8.5″ stock, two-sided, then folded in half vertically to 3″ x 8.5″ to fit perfectly in a standard business envelope. This  brochure provides a nice overview of the Rewardical rewards/loyalty program as it relates to merchants.

q&A-final

Q: You referred to the close letter as “Close Letter #1.”  Does that mean there are other close letters?
Yes.  We can’t assume, of course, that every merchant is going to opt in after only a single follow-up.  Indeed, traditionally, in sales, multiple follow-ups are required to close a sale.  So, we will be adding additional close letters in the near future.

Q: I want to increase the impact of my follow-ups by including at least one of the full-color brochures.  Which should I use?
Ideally, you’d include both, as they will really help “tell the story” of Localvantia and Rewardical.  However, you can use just the Localvantia brochure if you wish to save a little money (providing information on Rewardical at this point is a good idea but not critical).

Q: Can I use the full-color brochures in prospecting merchants (BEFORE pre-registering them)?
You can, but we don’t recommend it.  First, note that the brochures do not have anywhere to put a code or ID for crediting.  This is by design.  Our program is designed to always operate with a pre-registration being the first thing that happens.

Q: Okay, but let’s say I run into someone who owns a business and I decide to bring up Localvantia…but I haven’t pre-registered him yet.  Can I not hand him a Localvantia and/or Rewardical brochure?
You certainly can, but if you do so we’d recommend you let him know you’re going to pre-register him and he’ll be receiving a letter from you shortly with his invitation code to get started.  That is, clarify that you’re just giving him some advance information now, but you’re going to follow up with an official invitation.  If you don’t do this, you risk letting someone else wind up as their referrer/account manager.

Q: I want to hand-deliver my close letter and brochure.  What’s the best way to do this?
Ideally, you’d put your materials in an envelope addressed to the merchant.  Using a window envelope eliminates the need to separately address the envelope because the address, as printed on the close letter, can show through the window.  You may also want to add your business card.

Q: So after the merchant receives the close letter from me, goes to Localvantia.com/go, and enters the invitation code…what happens next?
The merchant will see what will become their merchant profile page in the Localvantia.com search engine.  It’s populated with all the information you pre-registered (name, address, category), and the photo you took.  From here, the merchant can make any necessary edits.  Next, they’ll proceed to add some basic additional information to fill out their profile and account. Next, they’ll choose their participation rate.  And that’s it.  They’ll immediately be live in the Localvantia.com search engine and we’ll begin promoting the merchant to all area affiliates and members.  They’ll also immediately receive a welcome letter (email) from us confirming they are officially onboard…and they’ll start to receive Localvantia merchant training, tips, newsletters, etc. intermittently from us.  We’ve also created a nice Localvantia Merchant “getting started” guide that they can start reviewing to maximize their participation in the program.

Q: The photos I’ve taken for pre-registrations may not be perfect.  Can the merchant replace the photo I took with their own, better photo?
Definitely, yes!  The merchant will be able to modify/update all elements of their profile.  And for photos specifically, they’ll also have the option of adding several more photos so they can have an entire “gallery” of photos for viewers of their profile to browse through if they’d like.

Q: What’s the minimum amount a merchant has to pay to participate in the program?
Currently, for grocery stores, gas stations, and automotive businesses, they can participate for as little as 1/2% ($.005 for each dollar in sales).  For all other types of businesses, the minimum is 1% ($.01 for each dollar in sales).  Of course, it is in the best interests of the merchant to participate at the highest rate that is feasible for them, as this means a higher number of Rewardicals they’ll be putting out to attract and retain customers.

Q: So where/how does the merchant choose how many Rewardicals they want to award to their customers…and how does the merchant get Rewardicals, and how does the merchant pay the rewardicals to their customers?
The merchant doesn’t have to do ANY of that.  All they have to do is choose to participate at the 1/2%, 1%, 2%, 3%, or whatever, level…and we take it from there!  That is, once they’ve chosen their participation rate, everything happens automatically.  Here’s the process:

  • Customers make purchases like normal at the merchant’s store.
  • The customer now submits a claim for his/her tokens at Localvantia.  Alternately, the merchant can instantly verify the purchase when customer checks out using a smartphone–eliminating the need for submitting a claim form later and the need to upload a copy of their purchase receipt.  More on this in next Tuesday’s announcement.
  • We now invoice the merchant for the cost of the Rewardicals (via email).
  • Once the merchant has paid the invoice, we then deposit the Rewardicals earned by the purchase into the customer’s Rewardical.com member account…which they can now redeem at their convenience!

That’s it.  For merchants, so very easy!  Special note: Merchants will also have the option of funding an account so invoices can be paid instantly, automatically, and customers can receive their Rewardicals immediately.  More on this in next Tuesday’s announcement.

Q: Can a merchant change their participation rate?
Essentially whenever they want, yes.

Q: For the envelopes, etc…is it possible that the artwork could be provided (digitally) to a local printer so I could have them printed locally and avoid high shipping costs and delivery delays?
Yes.  Submit a ticket to Support if you are interested in doing this.  Please keep in mind that quality control is critical and we will NOT allow just anyone to do this. We will need to be convinced of your capability and trustworthiness.  You can also speed up the process by providing information (their website would be ideal) on the printer you intend to employ so that we can do our due diligence on the company that will be printing the materials.

Q: Can I use the Rewardical brochure to help in referring new Rewardical members?
No, it’s not designed for consumers/prospective members.  Rather, it’s written specifically for merchants and, hence, presents the merchant benefits of the program, NOT the benefits that a consumer would care about.

Q: So what exactly are my responsibilities as a Localvantia merchant’s account manager?
For most merchants, it will likely be very simple and easy.  That is, you’ll go through the close process and get them formerly onboard, and for most merchants that might be all you ever have to do.  But some merchants may be “needier” than others.  Some may want to talk to you before and/or after signing on.  Some may have questions occasionally you’ll need to answer for them.  Some may want your advice about how to promote Rewardicals to their customers.  You need to be ready to provide this assistance.  And then there’s the concept of being “pro-active.”  That is, getting merchants officially onboard is great, but if you’re in SFI to create financial freedom for yourself, you don’t want to stop there.  No, you want to “size up” every merchant and try to gain an real understanding of how their business operates so that that merchant can flourish in Localvantia.  Remember, the more Rewardicals they dish out, the more YOU will receive. So, for example, if you think your merchant could increase activity by installing signs in their windows, or putting flyers in all takeout orders, or putting table tents on tables, etc….it’s in your best interest to suggest these things.  Don’t sit around and hope the merchant figures it out on their own; MAKE IT HAPPEN; be pro-active.

Q: Yikes, closing merchants, following up, etc. is way more work than I want to do.  Am I really required to do all this?
If you want to be listed as their account manager and be the beneficiary of all the referral tokens generated by the merchants, of course, yes.  This potentially very large benefit is not for pre-registering. Rather, it’s for your efforts in closing the merchant and for any needed ongoing account maintenance.  If you’re not willing to take on these responsibilities, or you prove to be unable to achieve typical results, some or all of your accounts may be transferred to another affiliate in the area.
